STEMpowering Summer 2024
Our 2024 summer camp was hosted virtually, completely free of charge for students, with our instruction team mentoring dozens of students across 5+ states in our three programs.
Watch on YouTube"Thanks so much for this lovely initiative. [Our son] learned a lot from these classes. Looking forward to seeing more of these."
"Thank you so much for these sessions. Looking forward to seeing what else STEMpowering has to offer."
Introduction to Computer-Aided Design
Our Intro to Computer Aided Design (CAD) series taught students the basics of the CAD software, OnShape, including 2-D sketching, 3-D modeling, and assembly, and other fundamental skills necessary to begin creating and visualizing their own designs. Through hands-on projects, students learned how to transform their ideas into digital models, preparing them for more advanced design challenges.
Introduction to Python Programming
In our Programming with Python course, students were introduced to the fundamentals of Python, one of the most versatile and widely-used programming languages. They learned key concepts such as variables, loops, conditionals, and functions through interactive exercises. By the end of the course, students were equipped with the skills to write simple scripts, solve problems programmatically, and understand the basics of code logic and structure, setting a strong foundation for further exploration in programming.
Introduction to Electricity and Circuits
In our Electricity and Circuits workshop, students explored the basics of electrical circuits and how they function. They learned essential concepts such as voltage, current, and resistance while building simple circuits using breadboards. The hands-on experience was complemented by simulations in TinkerCAD, where students could design and test their circuits virtually before assembling them in real life. By the end of the workshop, students gained practical skills in circuitry and a deeper understanding of how electrical components interact.
